Polyurethane for hard-wearing timber flooring
Polyurethane floor finishes are very durable and hard-wearing. Solvent-based polyurethane has been joined by water-based polyurethane to offer options on the type of finish required.
To change or enhance the colour of the timber, you can choose a tinted polyurethane or stain the wood. If you use a wood stain, a clear protective polyurethane coating provides a durable finish.

Water-based polyurethane for eco-friendly floors
Eco-friendly waterborne traffic-based polyurethane is a great option for anyone wanting a durable but more environmentally friendly flooring coating. It gives off less fumes during application, has a clear finish, is non-yellowing and has different sheen levels.
Solvent-based polyurethane for durability
Solvent-based polyurethane is the standard for timber flooring finishes as it is durable, cost-effective and comes in a range of sheen levels - high gloss, semi-gloss, satin and matt.
Moisture-cure solvent based polyurethane is extremely durable and more moisture resistant than other surface finishes. It is usually used in commercial premises and doesn't yellow with age.
